THE SITE LICENCE ENTITLES THE REGISTERED ORGANIZATION TO ADDITIONAL SERVICES AND PRODUCTS (DESCRIBED BELOW). THE ACQUISITION OF A SITE LICENSE AUTOMATICALLY SATISFIES THE ADDITIONAL COMMERCIAL USE FEE REQUIREMENT (DESCRIBED BELOW).
• A DOCMaker SITE LICENSE (LOCAL AND WORLD-WIDE) GIVES THE REGISTERED ORGANIZATION THE RIGHT TO INSTALL THE DOCMaker APPLICATION AND USERS MANUAL ON COMPUTER CPUs WITHIN THE ORGANIZATION. THE REGISTERED ORGANIZATION RECEIVES ALL AVAILABLE LANGUAGE MODULES FOR SAVING LOCALIZED INTERFACES WITH THE DOCUMENTS (DESCRIBED BELOW). THE REGISTERED ORGANIZATION IS AUTOMATICALLY COVERED FOR COMMERCIAL USE AND DISTRIBUTION OF THE STAND-ALONE DOCUMENTS. THE REGISTERED ORGANIZATION IS ENTITLED TO A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF DOCUMENT CUSTOMIZATION (IE. CHANGE DESKTOP ICON OF DOCUMENTS, CUSTOMIZATION OF “ABOUT” DIALOG, SIMPLE DOCUMENT SECURITY) AT NO CHARGE.
• COMMERCIAL USE AND COMMERCIAL DISTRIBUTION OF STAND-ALONE DOCUMENTS REQUIRES AN ADDITIONAL SINGLE ONE-TIME FEE PAYMENT. COMMERCIAL USE INCLUDES INTERNAL DISTRIBUTION OF DOCUMENTS AT A COMMERCIAL SITE, COMMERCIAL PRODUCT SUPPORT DOCUMENTS, ON-LINE MANUALS FOR COMMERCIAL PRODUCTS, PUBLISHED WORKS FOR COMMERCIAL SALE, ETC. THE ONE-TIME COMMERCIAL USE FEE COVERS THE CREATION AND DISTRIBUTION OF DOCMaker DOCUMENTS BY A COMMERCIAL ORGANIZATION. ONCE THE FEE IS PAID, IT WILL NOT HAVE TO BE RENEWED, EVEN FOR FUTURE UPGRADES OF DOCMaker. IF THE REGISTERED ORGANIZATION IS DISSOLVED, TERMINATED, OR ABSORBED BY OR MERGED WITH ANOTHER ORGANIZATION, THE LICENSING COVERAGE OF THE COMMERCIAL USE FEE WILL CEASE. THE COMMERCIAL USE FEE IS NOT A SITE LICENSE. THE COMMERCIAL USE FEE DOES NOT REGISTER FOR THE INSTALLATION OF COPIES OF DOCMaker ONTO COMPUTERS, ALTHOUGH IF YOU ARE OBTAINING A NEW REGISTRATION THE COMMERCIAL USE FEE INCLUDES REGISTRATION OF YOUR FIRST INSTALL.
• SHAREWARE INDIVIDUALS AND SHAREWARE ORGANIZATIONS ARE EXEMPT FROM THE ADDITIONAL COMMERCIAL USE FEE, PROVIDED THAT THE USE OF DOCMaker AT THE SHAREWARE ORGANIZATION IS NOT FOR ANY COMMERCIAL PURPOSES.
• NEWSLETTERS WHICH ARE PRODUCED AS NOT-FOR- PROFIT PUBLICATIONS AND WHICH MAY CHARGE FEES TO COVER PRODUCTION AND DISTRIBUTION COSTS ARE EXEMPT FROM THE ADDITIONAL COMMERCIAL USE FEE, PROVIDED THAT THE USE OF DOCMaker BY THE PUBLISHING ORGANIZATION IS NOT FOR ANY COMMERCIAL PURPOSES.
• EDUCATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS ARE EXEMPT FROM THE ADDITIONAL COMMERCIAL USE FEE, PROVIDED THAT THE USE OF DOCMaker AT THE EDUCATIONAL ORGANIZATION IS NOT FOR ANY COMMERCIAL PURPOSES.
• ADDITIONAL MODULES AVAILABLE FROM GREEN MOUNTAIN SOFTWARE ALLOW LANGUAGE LOCALIZATION OF THE STAND-ALONE DOCUMENTS FOR USE IN SEVERAL COUNTRIES. THIS MEANS THAT IF YOU HAVE A LANGUAGE MODULE, YOU MAY SAVE YOUR DOCUMENTS SUCH THAT THE MENUS, WINDOWS, DIALOGS, AND OTHER INTERFACE TEXT WILL BE DISPLAYED IN THAT LANGUAGE WHEN THE DOCUMENT IS RUN FROM THE DESKTOP.

DOCMaker V4.5 Registration Questions and Answers
Q: “I am a shareware author that currently is registered for two copies of DOCMaker. How do I upgrade?”
A: If you wish to receive disks by mail, send $5.00 for handling the upgrade. OR you may request the upgrade to be emailed to you.
 
Q: “I was a shareware author that previously registered for DOCMaker but I have since become a commercial software company. How do I upgrade?”
A: To upgrade to DOCMaker v4.5 you will be required to pay the commercial use fee. The commercial use fee for current users is a one-time payment of $125. The upgrades to v4.5 of your existing installs is free, and if you need additional installs you will need to send $35 for each additional install required.
 
Q: “We are a Macintosh user group that wishes to distribute our newsletter on disks at our meetings and on our local BBS. Our librarian will be the only person using DOCMaker for creating the newsletter. We are not currently registered, so what do we do?”
A: You should register for one copy of DOCMaker for $25. No additional fees are required.
 
Q: “We are a commercial company that would like to distribute our company newsletter on our internal email network to our employees. Two employees will be using DOCMaker to create and distribute the newsleter. How much is registration and licensing?”
A: You will be required to obtain two installations of DOCMaker and to pay the one-time commercial use fee. The new user commercial use fee is $225 which includes the fee for your first installation of DOCMaker and the second install of DOCMaker is $35, so your total fee requirement is $260.
 
Q: “We are a commercial company that would like to distribute manuals for five of our products in DOCMaker format. We will need 50 copies of DOCMaker to create and distribute the manuals in English, Spanish, and French. DOCMaker will be used by the 50 employees in two of our offices located in Boston, MA. How much is registration and licensing?”
A: You will need to obtain a local site license for DOCMaker. The local site license will provide you with licensing for commercial use, unlimited installation on your computers in your offices in the Boston area, and the language modules you need all for $450.
 
Q: “I am a freelance graphic designer who would like to use DOCMaker to distribute examples of my work to potential customers. How do I register?”
A: You will be required to obtain a single install of DOCMaker and to pay the one-time commercial use fee. The new user commercial use fee is $225 which includes the fee for your first installation of DOCMaker, so your total fee requirement is $225.
 
Q: “I am currently registered for DOCMaker and I have version 3.96. I am a commercial user but I do not want to upgrade to version 4.5 right now. Is there a solution for me?”
A: Yes, you may upgrade to version 4.1.1 at any time for no cost. You may use version 4.1.1 under the agreement stated in the v4.1.1 users manual. There will be no commercial use fee required unless you decide to upgrade to version 4.5 or later.
 
Q: “We are a commercial company that wishes to license 2 copies of DOCMaker. Do we need to report the number of documents we will be distributing and the products that these documents support? Will we also have to pay an additional use fee when DOCMaker is upgraded in the future?”
A: After registering for the two copies of DOCMaker and paying the commercial use fee, you will not have to report any information on the use and distribution of the documents that you create. When additional releases of DOCMaker come out, the upgrades will be free (handling charges will apply), and no additional use fees will be required.
 
Q: “Is version 4.1.1 still available for registration?”
A: Yes, you may register for v4.1.1 for $25 per copy ($30 out of USA). It will be available for some time after version 4.5 is released, but will eventually be phased out.
 
Q: “I produce an electronic magazine for profit, which may actually increase the awareness of DOCMaker and subsequently the sales of DOCMaker. Do you consider special cases?”
A: Yes, absolutely. Please contact Green Mountain Software to discuss your use of DOCMaker.
 
Q: “I would like to produce an electronic periodical using DOCMaker. I’m not sure that anyone would pay for it, but I’d like to give it a try. How do I register?”
A: You should register as a shareware author. You must, though, distribute your manual as shareware so that people will have access to the journal and may pay you for it if they wish to continue to download it or continue to use it. The registration fee under this plan would be $25. Note that a ‘lite’ version of your document which is distributed for gaining subscriptions to a more robust fee-required version is constituted as commercial use.
 
Q: “Do you offer multiple copy discounts for educational institutions?”
A: Yes, please see the schedule on the order form.
 
Q: “I am a shareware author in Germany who would like to create documents to support my software in both Germany and Sweden. How do register?”
A: You will need to register one copy of DOCMaker and two language modules; German and Swedish. The overseas registration fee for DOCMaker is $30 US, and the language modules are $25 US each, so your total registration fee requirement will be $80 US.
